Flash flooding has hit Austin, Texas on Friday.

Over two inches of rain fell in some parts of Austin, according to the National Weather Service. About a half a dozen roads are closed due to the flooding.

Camp Mabry in Austin had 2.44 inches of rain, breaking the daily record from 1972, according to the service.

Photos shared on Twitter and Instagram showed several feet of water on some streets and people walking through water knee-high.

The service said that the Pecos River near Langtry at the border with Mexico at 4:15 p.m. was at 9.8 feet and the flood stage is 10 feet. The water is expected rise to 11.2 feet by later tonight and cause minor flooding.

Flood warnings have been issued for other rivers, including Devils River and the Rio Grande.
