Julian Assange expects to earn over $1.5 million in book deals, according to The Guardian.
The founder of the controversial WikiLeaks website told the newspaper he will use the money for legal costs.
Assange is wanted by Swedish authorities on suspicion of sexual assault. He was arrested by British police earlier this month and is currently fighting extradition to Sweden in court.
Assange told the newspaper earlier that legal costs relating to the extradition and the WikiLeaks organization had reached around $770,000.
“I don’t want to write this book, but I have to. … I have already spent 200,000 pounds [$US308,000] for legal costs, and I need to defend myself and to keep WikiLeaks afloat,” Assange told the Sunday Times.
