NEW YORK—Traditional visual artists, including artists who work with puppets, folk arts, or quilts, are being sought for a public event later this month at Brooklyn’s Vaudeville Park.
The event will be “part potluck, part singalong, part performance, and part puppetry,” according to the Brooklyn Arts Council. Artists from Michigan, Virginia, and New York are currently slated, including folk singer Andru Bemis, ballad singer Elizabeth LaPrelle, and shadow-puppet artist Katherine Fahey.
Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the show starts at an unspecified later time, preceded by square-dancing lessons and a shadow-puppet workshop. To reserve tickets visit www.vaudevillepark.org. For artists interested in participating, submit a sample of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line Fixins, which is the title of the event.
