A meteor picture shared by at least several people--a reporter with ABC and a reporter for a Phoenix TV station--is actually from August 2011.
Chuck Goudie of ABC in Chicago and Mike Pache of 12 News tweeted out the picture.
Breaking News also went with the old photo, but appears to have since deleted it. Goudie has also issued a correction.
The photo is actually from August 14, 2011. It was taken by NASA astronaut Ron Garan.
At the same time, there does appear to be meteors shooting across the sky tonight, with reports coming in from Ohio, Virginia, and Tennessee, among other states.
