70-Year-Old Bath Iron Works Employee Killed After Being Struck by SUV in Maine

A 70-year-old woman was killed after beings truck by an SUV in Bath, Maine on Wednesday morning, Feb. 17.

The woman was headed to work at Bath Iron Works, police said.

She was hit while crossing Washington Street.

The woman’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of her family.

The driver, 57-year-old Edward Buzzell, remained on the scene, reported WCSH. He’s been cooperative during the investigation, and has not as of yet been charged with any crime.

He also works for bath Iron Works. 

Police arrived shortly after the 6 a.m. crash to find the victim unresponsive and lying on the street. They attempted CPR until Bath paramedics arrived and took over, reported the Bangor Daily News, but the victim died at the scene.
