At least four people are dead, including a young boy, during a shooting in Santa Clarita, California, it was reported.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said the shooting took place at 7 a.m. around the 28800 block of Startree Lane, ABC7 reported.
The four victims were described as two women, a boy, and a woman. They were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident, according to the sheriff’s officials on Twitter.

Officials called on people to avoid the area due to an ongoing investigation.

The Los Angeles Times described the scene, saying the alleged slayings took place in an upscale subdivision in the hills above Copper Hill Drive.

It reported that there were a large number of deputies on the scene.

It’s not clear if the shooter was among the victims.

No additional information was released by authorities.

Footage shot by KTLA and ABC7 showed investigators on the scene of a single-family home. Police tape appeared around the house.

Santa Clarita is located in Los Angeles County, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
