2018 Grammy Awards Ratings Plummets

According to early Nielsen ratings data on Monday, Jan. 29, the U.S. television audience for Sunday’s Grammy Awards show on CBS fell by 8 million viewers.

TVLine and Variety, citing the Nielsen numbers, said that 17.6 million Americans watch the music awards ceremony. That represents a more than 30 percent drop from the figures in 2017 when 26.1 million watched.

“Per fast nationals subject to change due to the live nature of the event, the Grammys are currently looking at 17.6 million total viewers and a 5.4 rating. Pending adjustment, that stands as the smallest audience in a decade (since 2008, when it drew 17.2 mil),” TVLine reported.
