Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis invited Vice President Kamala Harris to Florida to talk about how the state teaches African-American history, after she criticized him about it last week in a speech in Jacksonville. Speaking again in Florida, this time in Orlando, Ms. Harris refused the invitation.

Vice President Kamala Harris flew to Florida last month to take a shot at Gov. Ron DeSantis, saying the state wanted “to replace history with lies” in how it taught about slavery.

In a July 31 letter, Mr. DeSantis publicly invited her to Florida to discuss it.
