Twisted on ABC Family is wrapping up season 1 on April 1 but hasn’t been renewed as of yet for a season 2.
The 19-episode first season will end in a dramatic finale titled “A Tale of Two Confessions.”
“Kyle’s investigation culminates with a series of shocking and contradictory confessions and potentially deadly consequences. The complicated triangle between Jo, Danny and Charlie comes to a shocking head. Karen and Tess uncover more of Vikram’s secrets, including a piece of evidence that has major implications for Tess and the Masterson family,” according to the official description.
“Meanwhile, Whitney’s mother Gretchen (Elaine Hendrix) shows up to bring her daughter back to the city, and her candor about Whitney’s past causes Lacey to question her friend. And Rico makes a major faux pas in his first meeting with Andie’s parents.”
Twisted started out without a full season, but was picked up on July 30, 2013. Two of the stars--Avan Jogia (Danny Desai) and Maddie Hasson (Jo Masterson) were nominated for the Teen Choice Awards.
Showrunner Chuck Pratt Jr. told TVLine that despite the series not being renewed yet he remains hopeful.
“It’s totally up to ABC Family to say ‘Do a cliffhanger’ or ‘Don’t do a cliffhanger,’” he explained. “Nobody told us to put on the breaks, or wrap it up, so there’s always a chance we’ll come back.”
