Hu Jintao concluded his 10-day visit to North American on Sept. 17, returning to China from Vancouver. He attended the grand international event in honor of the United Nations' 60th anniversary and it was his first visit since gaining full control of the Chinese Communist Party.
Making the best possible use of his visit to the U.S., Canada and Mexico was the highest priority for him and other party leaders. The primary purpose was to use the visit to resolve the biggest crisis faced by the party since its founding, a crisis created by the resignation of 4 million people from the party after reading The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. But the purpose was not achieved and, the efforts of Li Zhaoxing and other foreign affairs officials over several months appears to be wasted. Specifically, Hu was embarrassed because he had to "choke on" the words that he wanted to tell President Bush.
Here is a sketch of the CCP's original wish list. Prior to the visit, the CCP staged a verbal attack on the West with speeches threatening nuclear and biological warfare by Gen. Zhu Chenghu and also by former Defense Minister Chi Haotian.
Then, when Hu met with Bush, Hu was to appear as a peacemaker who could forestall such attacks. Hu would then cut a deal with the West that would maintain the CCP's existence, thus resolving its life-threatening crisis. This devious, vile tactic, known as "turning a black face white," is commonly used by the CCP, and had, up to now, been very successful.
The Party Tries to Turn "Black Into White" One More Time
For example, prior to the well-known Taiwanese politicians Lian Zhan’s and Song Chu-Yu’s visit to China, the CCP enacted the "Anti-Secession Law," which completely confused the two men. They had no idea what the CCP was up to; it was as if, upon receiving guests at its home, the CCP suddenly wants to chop off their hands, but then makes demands that, when agreed to, will allow them to keep their hands. Haven't the guests—who then think they got a good deal since they still have their hands—been completely fooled by a scoundrel?
The CCP has consistently used such scams throughout its history. It has labeled millions of people as "rightists," persecuted them, and broken up their families in political campaigns over the decades. The party then turns around and redresses the victims, asking them to thank the CCP for its generosity. If at that time you had truly thanked the CCP from the bottom of your heart, you really were a fool.
This is just like a kidnapper who says, "Initially, I wanted to kill you, but I won't since your family paid the ransom. So thank me, you little brat!"
The Party Tries "Black Into White" On the West
The party tried the same ploy during Hu's visit. After his subordinates threatened America with atomic and biological war, Hu hoped to tell President Bush: "My generals initially wanted to use weapons of mass destruction, but since the U.S. has agreed to our requests, I will prevent this. Mr. President, you should thank me and then we'll shake hands and smile for the cameras."
But the U.S. did not buy it. To the contrary, the U.S. Congress passed an amendment requesting the Chinese government immediately retract the statements made by General Zhu. In the words of Rep. Thomas Tancredo of Colorado, who proposed the amendment: "The government of the People's Republic of China should disavow General Zhu's statements and remove Zhu from his position."
After the CCP had acted shamelessly by unilaterally announcing at home that Hu's visit would be a "state visit," the U.S. indefinitely delayed meeting Hu Jintao at the White House, which had originally been scheduled for Sept. 7, because of the calamity of Hurricane Katrina. The two men only met while Bush was attending the UN summit. However, President Bush did not change his plans to meet with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani due to Katrina, and their meeting took place with the highest state protocol.
The U.S.'s tough stance prevented Hu from turning "black into white" and he choked on his own words. Though the CCP originally wanted to bluff America, it had to be aborted because the party crossed the line and the U.S. no longer showed a smiling face. So it's important that the world clearly see the CCP's reckless ploys for what they are, as well as its true scoundrel face and possible mental derangement.
The world must face the fact that the CCP has often used the same means to savagely oppress the Chinese people. So the Chinese people might as well learn to deal with the party the way the U.S. did and not fall for the scams. At this time, the surge of resignations from the CCP and other effects of The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is the proper way to deal with the party and is likely dealing the CCP a fatal blow.
