A British Columbia model has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in Shanghai.
Diana Gabrielle O'Brien went to Shanghai mid-June to model for Jh Model Agency for three months but planned to leave early.
The company represents itself as one of China's top three modeling agencies but is located in a run-down building, said a CTV reporter in Shanghai. O'Brien went to China expecting to do photo modeling but also danced in bars partially nude for elderly men.
Her boyfriend said she was eager to come home.
O'Brien's body was found by her roommate on the stairs of her building on Sunday. She was supposed to go on a modeling shoot over the weekend but disappeared on Saturday.
Police in Shanghai are barely acknowledging there has been a homicide but RCMP say Chinese police are conducting an autopsy.
