NEW YORK—In a report on the ongoing attacks that pro-communist supporters are waging against Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York City, SinoVision said that Falun Gong has been disrupting recent earthquake fundraising efforts in New York City since May 17.
The Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has requested that the FBI investigate SinoVision's role in contributing to the misinformation of the Flushing incident.
Through print, Internet, video and other media methods, certain Chinese media outlets, including the U.S.-based Chinese language TV station SinoVision have been cooperating with the CCP to launch a new level of persecution against Falun Gong.
Launched in 1990, SinoVision serves the Chinese community of the Greater New York Area. Yet without any factual evidence, it recently delivered false reports deceiving its viewers and misleading the public. Mr. Gao Dawei, the head of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, believed that SinoVision acted as an overseas mouthpiece for the CCP and should be punished by U.S. law for its blatant misrepresentation.
Echoing the 'People's Daily'
Dr. Tang Boqiao, Chairman of China Peace and Democracy Federation, says that SinoVision is actually funded by the Chinese authorities to serve as its overseas propaganda machine in the position of a private group. "I know some SinoVision anchormen who are actually employees of CCTV [the largest state-run television station in China]," said Tang.
"Their reports have a very strong political inclination that runs parallel to the Chinese authorities. I urge extreme caution regarding the objectivity of reports from a media organization with the same background as the China Press and SinoVision. They merely echo the views of the People's Daily [a major state-owned newspaper in China]."
CCP Incites Flushing Mobs
"It's a shock to learn that a U.S-based Chinese-language television station actually echoes CCTV!" remarked Gao Dawei. "Like CCTV, SinoVision's programs spread lies about Falun Gong. One would think that it wasn't a U.S. station, but a Chinese one."
Gao says he will turn all of the information regarding this incident over to the FBI and prepare for legal action.
"Lawyers and American citizens who value justice have collected evidence that this station has slandered Falun Gong, spread the cult of communism, and used the slogans promoting the evil CCP in their reports. They've provided the FBI with valuable information and they are currently conducting an investigation. We're preparing for the next step in the litigation process," said Gao.
Likewise, Dr. Tang proposed suing SinoVision in civil court.

Continued Investigation of SinoVision
Wang Zhiyuan, head of World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), agrees that the CCP has been using overseas Chinese media as its mouthpiece to Chinese people abroad. "The CCP has won over SinoVision's media director, editor-in-chief and key personnel by, inviting them to conferences and concentrating training to their Chinese journalists. Meanwhile, the CCP has used this 'friendship' to export its ideology, and has directly broadcasted and published its articles and paper editions on its influenced media like SinoVision," said Wang.
Wang believes that the CCP has demonstrated a considerable impact over the minds of many Chinese using a very subtle tactic—operating behind the scenes. Yet, whether in China or overseas, CCP influenced media have issued a great deal of distorted reports on the Flushing incident.
