NEW YORK—At the Plaza Hotel's Grand Ballroom on Tuesday, Italian architect Dr. David Fisher announced the start of a new page in the history of architecture. The new Dynamic Tower apartments will change the way the world looks at buildings, as each tower will generate its own energy, each floor will be free-moving, and through its unique design, each floor of the building will be able to be built off-site in factories.

The construction of the first two Dynamic Towers will begin soon in Dubai and Moscow, with projects in other parts of the world being planned. (See video, below)

With reservations already being accepted for the first tower in Dubai, Fisher mentioned his plans for his next project. "Our intention is to build the third rotating skyscraper in New York," said Fisher.

With a focus on creating buildings which are in harmony with nature as well as technologically advanced, Fisher explained that each tower will generate its own green energy through the use of both wind turbines and solar panels.

"I was thinking about how we can use the wind instead of fighting with the wind," said Fisher.

"The Dynamic Tower is environmentally friendly and the first building designed to be self-powered, with the ability to generate electricity for itself, as well as for other nearby buildings," said Fisher. "It achieves this feat with wind turbines fitted between each rotating floor. An 80-story building will have 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant."

Due to their original shape and design, the wind turbines between each floor will be silent, and the interior furnishings of each apartment will use natural, recyclable materials such as stone, marble, glass, and wood.

Each floor of the towers will be independent and free moving, and will be able to be built off-site in a factory. Once constructed, each floor section can be installed onto the tower's center and lifted to the desired floor.

Fisher said that ability of the tower to be built using pre-constructed parts will reduce building costs by approximately 20 percent. It will also reduce construction time to about seven days per floor. The ability of each floor to rotate independently of the next, at different speeds, will allow the building's shape to be in a constant state of change.

Each apartment of the towers will feature many customizable options, including indoor swimming pools, voice activated control systems, an elevator for your car which allows you to park in a designated space of your apartment, as well as specially designed luxury bathrooms assembled at the Leonardo da Vinci factory in Italy.

"Today's life is dynamic, so the space we are living in should be dynamic as well, adjustable to our needs that change continuously, to our concept of design and to our mood," said Fisher. "Buildings will follow the rhythms of nature. They will change direction and shape from spring to summer, from sunrise to sunset, and adjust themselves to the weather. In other words, buildings will be alive."
