Seeing a stream of neck-tie, baseball bat, and golf club commercials for weeks now, it's hard to imagine that anyone wouldn't realize that Father's Day is this Sunday—but, of course, people do.

Now, don't fret about those Father's Day greetings you didn't get the chance to send via "snail-mail". A free technology is letting people send impressive e-cards to their loved ones

Light Factory LLC, based in Burlingame, California, is putting out highly personalized, high definition (HD) e-cards for iPhone and computer users. The service, known as HD Greetings, is for free and can be found at www.hdgreetings.com.

"Our e-Cards are a great alternative to paper greeting cards for those of us who wait until the last minute," said Jennifer Sharp, HD Greetings CEO. "You may not have made it to the store in time, but you can still show that you've put thought and care into the card sending process by creating a highly personalized HD Greetings E-Card."

The innovative HD Greetings website provides high definition technology that allows users to add photos, video and text into high definition video in real time. This process typically takes hours or even days, according to the new technology developer's website, but now for free, users can have personalized e-cards ready immediately.

For the first time, users' own pictures appear seamlessly on the video e-card, as if they were part of the original video. The original videos are created by a community of at least 100 animators.

With an easy-to-use interface, users simply go to the website and can choose from the Father's Day, graduation or other e-cards. Once they've selected a card, users can embed a photo directly into the animated card, add a personalized message, render the greeting in real-time and then send within moments.

Light Factory's technology plans to make it possible to deliver customized video to any device, including mobile devices, iPhones, game boxes and HD-TVs.

According to Hallmark, a company that takes pride in making paper greeting cards in the US and Canada, at least 95 million paper greeting cards will be given for this Father's Day alone.
