EDMONTON—Divine Performing Arts brought their Chinese Spectacular to Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Tuesday evening before a delighted audience.
Program manager for a senior's centre, Penny Olsen decided to see the show after being contacted by DPA's marketing team. She enjoyed the show.
"I found out about the show from someone who phoned up and told us about it. We have a seniors center and someone from the marketing department contacted us. So I got a ticket and here I am."
"I am interested in Chinese traditional culture. I think it is very important that people learn about cultures all over the world. I am enjoying it. The musicians were good too. It was all good."
Ann Stubbs, who's currently retired, had many positive things to say about the performance.
"I love it. It's been great. I am really glad I was able to come, because it has been most interesting.
"I love the fans and the drums – the group-work too. The costumes are fantastic. I have never seen a show like this before – it was fabulous! I am enjoying it very much," she said.
NAIT Millwrights trade Instructor, Mr Penner and his son Dan, also thoroughly enjoyed the show.
"We have enjoyed the performance tremendously. It is very enjoyable, very well done and very professional; extremely good dancers."
"The cultures and the gentle dance and the way everything is presented so well… It is very entertaining. The backdrop was wonderful, the choreography…the way everything works together. I enjoyed it very much."
Dan Penner, a Paramedic for the City of Edmonton EMS said: "The show is really nice, really good. Those drummers were awesome! It was a really cool show. The choreographed dancing and drumming was just awesome! I imagine it took a lot of training. They seemed very skilled."
