CLEVELAND, Ohio—Located on the southern shore of Lake Erie in the midwestern United States, Cleveland hosted one of the final performances of the 2008 global tour of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at the Playhouse Square Center at the State Theater on Saturday night.
"Everything was just so beautiful," said Joanie Graven, a retired legal secretary who lives in Cleveland. "The costumes and the grace of the dancers was magical," she added.
"It was a good night—it was very, very pleasant and a surprise. A surprise because it was so beautiful.
"My favorite part was the dancing and the drums, they were very magnificent. The dancers were so graceful… the poise and they were so much in rhythm with one another—just lovely and very, very pretty.
"I would definitely recommend this show but it's only here for one night. If they come back next year I will. I hope they come back next year."
The Spectacular will finish its 2008 global tour with the final shows in Huntsville Alabama and in Edmonton, Canada. When completed, the Spectacular will have performed in 65 cities on four continents and to an audience of 650,000.
