CALGARY, Canada—Actress Angelica Janik attended the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular on Wednesday April 30 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, Calgary.
Angelica was enraptured by the way the performances were put together, how they interacted and how they worked on many different levels and how the audience was totally engrossed, she said. When asked what she thought of the show she said: "The way they incorporate the dance and the music together. It really affects you. Not only mentally and physically, but also spiritually because it's on a different level that a lot of things can't do.
"I would say I think all of them are on a different level not only the clothing that they wore, but just the way they have the ability to just put two to two together. That like… you know fast movements and slow movements and then instead of always keeping on one level.
"It was so cool; it made the audience into it. They were leaning on their seats. It was so cool."
When asked for her favorite performance Angelica added, "The one with the bowls ['Mongolian Bowl Dance']. They're holding the bowls, they had the red and…I want to go to China now."
After travelling to over 60 countries on four continents, the New York-based Divine Performing Arts will wind up the Canadian leg of its 2008 international tour with shows in Edmonton from May 5-7.
