CALGARY—Game designer and executive producer George Georgeadis said he was delighted by Thursday night's performance of Divine Performing Arts' renowned Chinese Spectacular at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.

"There are a few messages in it that I think are important for everybody," said Georgeadis.

"I think it's beautiful that they actually incorporate it in the show and they allow the message in song and dance to transcend whatever culture you are, wherever you are from."

"We're Greek. We live in Canada but we are surrounded by all kinds of ethnicities and I think just as humans we can all relate to what it's saying."

Georgeadis, who designs games for Dreamgazers Interactive and Gamescafe.com, also enjoyed the artistic quality of the show.

"Artistically it is beautiful. I think from the costumes to the way they have designed the backdrop and they have the 3D and all the characters coming in, I think it is very well done."

"I think it's very inspiring for an artist. Visually, it was very beautiful."

Georgeadis focused in on the shows digital 3D backdrop system, which gives each dance a unique setting by projecting an animated image on a stage-sized screen behind the dancers.

"Very well done and it is very well timed and implemented, especially when the young man was shooting the suns. It was very well put together; very well done."

Georgeadis' mother, who was also in attendance, described the show as "incredible," "beautiful" and "touching."

"The first singer made me cry."

The Spectacular will finish its 2008 international tour with one more show in Calgary on Friday, a quick jaunt to Cleveland for a single show and then three more shows in Edmonton from May 5 to 7. When completed, the Spectacular will have staged in 65 cities on four continents.
