CALGARY, Alberta—Mrs Mary Bhuhy wanted more at Calgary's Jubilee Auditorium after the evening showing of the Chinese Spectacular.

"I have been to China. But this is a blend of modern and classical Chinese [and] the movements are totally different from what I saw [there]," said Mrs. Bhuhy, a retired accountant in Calgary.

Originally Mrs. Bhuhy is from Malaysia and is of Chinese origin. The Chinese culture presented in Chinese Spectacular was "totally different" from her experience of the culture in China.

The show's deep meanings gave something for Bhuhy to enlighten to, "I guess as Chinese we lose contact with our culture." She is going to encourage her daughter to take up classical dancing.

She thought the performance's "choreography was fantastic… [they] were really effective" as she also said it "blew my mind." Bhuhy also remarked: "I really enjoyed myself a lot."

She had never seen this number of dancers who could team together in unity, Bhuhy said, "It's the sheer size and the many, many dancers involved. [Usually] you see two, four, five, twenty but this is just tremendous."

Bhuhy saw the show being advertised by the market mall one morning. She was intrigued by a display at Zellers and read more about it. Already the Chinese Spectacular has performed in over 70 cities. Now that it's in her city she has seen it and says, "All in all I am very amazed and very, very impressed."

"I think that this is something that we should have more of," concluded Mrs. Bhuhy.
