SYDNEY, Australia—NSW State MP, the Hon. Marie Ficarra saw the Chinese Spectacular at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Thursday April 3.
Ms. Ficarra commented on the high standard of the show and its positive influence on young Chinese people.
"I think the standard of the performance is superb and I hope it becomes an annual event, because it is good for young Chinese, Australian-Chinese and also for the wider Australian community to understand the culture of China from many, many thousands of years ago."
Ms. Ficarra, who is the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Citizenship, commented on "The Risen Lotus Flower," which is a performance about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
"What they stand for, the purity of the principles and the standard … is very refreshing. I think it resonates now with a lot of the young people. That's the basic principle of the truth—what is correct and right."
Ms. Ficarra said she had received a strong message from watching the Spectacular.
"Even if you have to suffer for it and be persecuted ... It's worth it to stick to your principles for the long run. That's the message I get from these beautiful performances."
