AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Ms Sue Chalk, a graphic arts worker, said, the Spectacular was more then she expected when she saw the show at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre April 18. She loved all of it, she said particularly the 'Nymphs of the Sea' "The water... beautifully done."

Ms Chalk was inspired by the show and the portrayal of the traditional Chinese culture.

"I had not thought about it [traditional culture] too much until today," she said, "but I will certainly look into it."

While all the performances were enjoyable Ms Chalk said there were some that had really caught her interest.

"Well, lets face it! The Falun Gong part! There is a lot of controversy I guess but I'll look into it now and have a look. It seems to be a very peaceful thing."

The morality tales in the show also appealed to her, she said, as they seemed to represent universal themes that "bind us all together."

"I think you find the same morality tales in most every culture and that shows you the similarity."

As Ms Chalk went to sum up her impressions of the show she recalled so much.

"The gracefulness, the colour—I am impressed with the comperes too. I love the singing—beautiful voices.

"I will definitely tell all my friends."
