AUCKLAND, New Zealand—The premiere of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular has met with enthusiastic applause in Auckland on Thursday night.
Apparel and embroidery business owner Shane Fraser was at the show with his work mates. He said the show was "unbelievable" when he was interviewed at intermission.
"It's colourful and the dancing is amazing," he said.
He said the Chinese Spectacular is a great show, "it's great to try new things".
His business partner Alan Dempsey said the show was totally different to what he thought it was going to be.
"It was so colourful at the start, I was taken aback," he said.

He was particularly impressed by the 'Lady of the Moon', a traditional Chinese story.
"It was quite a good story, and I liked the colours."
He said he had seen Chinese ballet in China, and he has travelled to China four times on business.
Mr Dempsey said he was quite concerned about China's recent history, and was interested in the traditional Chinese culture depicted in the show.
