ADELAIDE, Australia—Retired Dutchmen, Hendrik Dion, was among the audience today during Adelaide's matinee performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular.
Mr Dion was delighted that the Chinese Spectacular showed a glimpse of China's culture and its people, "here in the western country ... you don't know [anything] about ... China."
He goes on to say that the Chinese Spectacular shows Westerners that, "the [Chinese] people ... can be just as friendly, just as amicable, just as entertaining [as everybody else]."
Of the Chinese Spectacular's entertainment value, Hendrik said, "The entertainment was absolutely over the top! Absolutely over the top!"
His favourite performances were the 'Drummers of the Tang Court' and 'Victory Drums,' in which the Divine Performing Arts dance company—contract, weave and expand in a proliferation of arrangements as they evoke the Tang drum in all it vigour.
"Absolutely unbelievable" he said, "Unbelievably good!"
Mr Dion said he is looking forward to coming back next year to see the show.
