STOCKHOLM—"A show as creative and artistic as the Chinese Spectacular, one that conveys courage and calmness, should be seen by everyone in the world," said Swedish economist Anita Löfgren, after seeing the Chinese Spectacular after the opening night at Stockholm's Circus Theater.
Ms Löfgren said her grandmother and grandfather came from China, so through her origins, she felt a connection with Chinese culture.
"My favorite scenes were those with the drums [Drummers of the Tang Court and Victory Drums], she said, "The drumming radiated both courage and powerful energy."
She also acknowledged that her profession as an economist led her to similar concerns about society. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, could be applied anywhere and everywhere including her profession she explained.
Ms Lofgren said she had heard of the ongoing human rights abuses in China and was worried for the safety of the artists when they return to China.
She was quite relieved when she heard that all the artists live overseas and the majority reside in New York.
The message she took home with her is that people in China should remain patient and not lose courage. Instead they should stand up against the oppression they are facing.
