BERLIN—Gabriele and Joachim Graßmann, both retirees from Berlin, attended the Chinese Spectacular at the International Conference Center in Berlin on Sunday afternoon. They spontaneously bought tickets at a booth in front of the Friedrich-Stadtpalast (city palace).

Joachim Graßmann, a former truck driver, found the event "very good."

"We are completely satisfied. Honestly, I enjoyed everything, everything."

His wife, a former sales person for a manufacturer, said, "It was wonderful, I enjoyed it—everything and all the artists. It was beautiful. They hopefully will come back next year, won't they?" Both had not yet experienced performances of Eastern art or Chinese culture, except through occasional broadcasts on TV.

"This is the reason why I ultimately came here," she explained. She said that her interest in Asian culture had been awakened. Recently, the couple's attention was drawn to Asian culture by a radio broadcast. This inspired Gabriele Graßmann to watch the Chinese Spectacular live.

"If these artists return next year, we would very much like to watch it again," said Mrs. Graßmann excitedly. Her husband added with cheerful laughter, "If we are still healthy next year, we will definitely come again."
