PARIS—The Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular played the first of four shows at the Palais des Congres in Paris on Saturday, delighting the audience with its authentic portrayal of Chinese culture.
And Mrs. Teleurier, a professional dancer from Chile, was no exception.
"I live in Chile but I have brothers and sisters in Korea and Vietnam. In this show we really feel the gist and all of Asia's experience," she said.
"There is something that is emitted, regardless of what is happening in Asia. We feel here a sense of peace and plenty of positive messages."
"I hope that during the Olympic Games this peace and positivity will also come forth. It is something powerful, and this power gives us all courage, and also hope," said Teleurier.
Herve Feron, Deputy of Meurthe et Moselle, described the Spectacular as "refreshing and a colorful show in which we feel that the people want to transmit a culture and a story."
Mr Melik, a health professional, felt the show brought an enchanting sense of harmony.
"The show is very harmonious, professional and enchanting. It is filled with poetry and dreams; A feast for the eyes and ears."
Mrs. Pierre, a researcher, remarked on the artistic beauty of the show.
"The dances are splendid. The costumes and the scenery are perfect, everything is well put together. The orchestral music is very beautiful. This experience allows us to discover Chinese music."
"I had a very good evening.," said sailor Jean Bentaha. "The scenery, the costumes and the singing were superb. It was very dreamlike."
Jean-Claude Bacon, retired, felt the show struck a deep chord with him because of his affinity for the Orient and the beauty of the Spectacular.
"As I have said, my heart is in the Orient. I find the show to be magnificent, unforgettable. It is a fairytale which fascinates me."
"The artists have this power to transform the beauty. The show is more beautiful than last year."
