NEW YORK—A senior news editor of the Life and Style magazine, Suzanne Rozdeba, says Splendor gives the audience a good understanding of Chinese history.

"I like the translations of the songs because a lot of the lyrics is related to what is happening in China currently and, for people who do not know Chinese history, it gives you a good understanding of what is happening," she said.

Her father Joe Rozdeba, M.D., a surgeon, said the The Splendor is "very enjoyable."

"It is wonderful and unique. The style of dancing, the movements. It is very colorful. Very peaceful and graceful," he said.

Ms. Rozdeba said she enjoyed the drumming.

"I love the drumming. I would have loved to see more of the drumming. It was fabulous," she said.

"I like that they have the English and Chinese translations," she said.

The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, Feb. 9.
