NEW YORK—Barbara Hill and Maureen Russo were abuzz with delight after Wednesday evening's performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor at Radio City Music Hall. The outgoing friends work in real estate and public relations, respectively, and were so enthusiastic that they kept interrupting and finishing off each other's sentences.
"What a great show," Hill said.
Russo, who is a student of Buddhism, said she was surprised to see all the references to China's spiritual culture, but enjoyed it because of her background. "I'm coming again."
Both women thought the choreography and story telling behind the dance "The Power of Awareness" was great.
"However, I saw the government didn't want people to practice the meditation [Falun Gong]. It's very sad, it's so peaceful," said Russo.
"Yes, they are such peaceful people," added Hill.
The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, Feb. 9.
