NEW YORK—Foreign Press Association president Alan Capper says the Chinese New Year Splendor is "superb."
"The entire production is superb. It has grace. It has spectacle. It has unique qualities that you cannot see in any other production and, perhaps, five thousand years of culture, you may expect nothing less than this," he said.
He found the dancers and the live orchestra impressive. "The grace of the dancers in the spectacle and the music itself is really quite remarkable."
"The music is a wonderful blend of Western and Chinese sound, superbly conducted and orchestrated. Altogether, it is a magnificent evening," said Alan.
His wife Jay also enjoyed the show.
"The Splendor is an absolute feast of history, color, music, and elegance and I am loving every minute of it," she said.
His son, Adam, said the Splendor "is a great display of culture."
"The colors in particular are absolutely beautiful. I have enjoyed the dances, particularly the battle scene and the drums," he said.
He said the music and the songs are also "absolutely stunning."
"It is very well hung together by two accomplished presenters who were explaining to the audience very well what is going on.
"All in all, it is fantastic," he said.
The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, Feb. 9.
