ANTWERP, Belgium—Antwerp's first performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular kicked off on Feb. 26 at the Stadsschouwburg Theatre. Maria Van Kerkhove, a retiree who lives in Antwerp, was in the audience and said, "I've never seen anything as beautiful in my whole life!"
She went on to say that the show was "fabulous. We enjoyed it incredibly!"
"Everything was beautiful, the costumes, the music, the way of dancing, really everything, I find no words to express it, we can really take this home with us."
Ms. Lescrimer, a retired pharmacist also from the area, said she liked the "controlled dancing, the swift rhythm very much."
"I'm not well informed about traditional Chinese culture to pinpoint traditional elements. It was all new to me, so it's impossible to compare with anything else. It was very beautiful," she said.
