THE HAGUE, Netherlands—Marion Vanderhimst, a speech therapist, viewed Wednesday evening’s performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at The Hague World Forum Theatre.

“I’m very much enjoying the colorfulness and the agility,” she said.

Vanderhimst, who also works with people in eurhythmics, felt the show gave her some perspective on China: “I do have the feeling that I’m getting to know Chinese culture better. During the show I was thinking, China is a very big country. So I can’t yet place the dances in certain regions. “

Her favorite piece was “The Mongolian Bowl Dance.” “I think it’s very extraordinary,” she said.

Leo De Borger, a banker from Wilrijk, shared a similar impression: “We enjoyed the show very much. It was very comprehensive—the songs, the music, the costumes. We think it was really wonderful.”

De Borger remarked that his favorite parts of the show were the drumming pieces and the digital backdrop, along with the show’s harmonious atmosphere.

The Chinese Spectacular is something he intends to recommend to friends, “Next week, the show is coming to Antwerp, close to our place. We’re certainly going to tell our friends that they have to go see the show.”
