TOKYO—Ms. Cheng came to Tokyo from China a few years ago. She watched the February 13 Divine Performing Arts Spectacular show with her husband at Wel City Tokyo.
Ms. Cheng said: "I felt that this is a wonderful show. It matches well with the trend of our society's development. We hope to see more of these kinds of shows that promote Confucius's teachings such as being filial and loyal. In China, you cannot find such culture any more, and it is very difficult to promote such culture. Seeing it overseas we felt that it comes with it a righteous atmosphere. We hope that this can change China, and we will then be truly blessed.
"China has one fifth of the world's population. If Chinese can be righteous, the entire world will benefit.
"China is still weak, which is regretful to every Chinese in China. I hope that Chinas' wonderful cultural traditions and moral values can be spread to each and every family, and to every corner of the society and countries. Indeed if the Confucius's thoughts and doctrines can prevail, the nation will be strong and people can live more harmoniously. I hope that China can have a good leader who will work for the people. I truly hope that Chinese people can be strong, and the righteous atmosphere that China used to have can emerge. This is my sincere hope."
Ms. Cheng couldn't wait to see the second half of the show. Before she returned to her seat, she said, "I hope that there is a guiding light that can lead us. We wish to contribute something for the future too."
