FRANKFURT—Marvin Holten was impressed when he saw the Divine Performing Arts "Overall, the Spectacular was better than last year," said Marvin. "I was most impressed with the piece 'The Power of Awareness,' where a little girl holds up a banner with the inscription 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance, the principles of Falun Gong, the practice that is being unjustly persecuted in China."

"I found it very impressive how non-practitioners stopped the Chinese Communist Party officials," he said. Holten was referring to a scene in which a young mother and her child are roughed up by police. Onlookers rally round and come to the aid of the two, driving away the police officers.

"When I saw this scene, I had a feeling that is difficult to describe," said Holten, who came to the show with his father.

Holten said he also was taken with the dance "Herding on the Mongolian Plains." The Mongolian Empire was one of the largest in the world because of their horsemanship. The dance movements in this scene simulate Mongolians riding horses.

"I really liked the acrobatic elements in that scene," he said. "Besides these, I enjoyed the dances 'Forsythia in Spring' and the fan dance."
