NAGOYA, Japan—On its second stop in Japan, the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular wowed audiences Sunday at Nagoya's Meitetsu Hall with it's impressive portrayal of ancient Chinese culture.

"It's my first time seeing such a performance. It's really beautiful, there were things that were very unique, things not in Japan, like the rhythms that were just so beautiful," said Mrs. Yamaka who came to the show with her husband.

Yoshito Yamauara, a shamisen (traditional Japanese string instrument) teacher for 35 years, said he thoroughly enjoyed the Spectacular. He also attended the show with his wife.

"This is my first time seeing a Chinese show, I really enjoyed it. I've been teaching Shamisen for 35 years … The music in the performance is very different from traditional Japanese instrumental music but it's very interesting," said Yamauara.

Both couples were impressed with the Mongolian Bowl Dance. "They (the dancers) were very level and everyone was really synchronized, I was really amazed. I thought that the bowls were stuck on the girls' heads but when they took them off, I was astonished," said Mrs. Yamaka.

Mrs. Yamauara liked the costumes and the movement. "The costumes' vibrant blue color and glitter matched the clear blue sky. They danced with bowls on their heads while their heads stayed still… this movement was very interesting."

The Spectacular will play a second show this evening at the Meitestsu Hall in Nagoya, which is next to Nagoya Station, the largest train station by floor area in the world.
