NEW YORK—Chairman and CEO of Write Stuff Syndicate Jeff Rodengen paid for his wife and four children to come to the show from Florida.
Mr. Rodengen writes books on industry and technology. It was the first time he has seen a Chinese show and he said he was impressed.
"I liked the drums a lot," he said. "And the stringed instrument [the erhu], I'd never heard it before. It was a haunting melody, beautiful, I liked it very much."
"I'm so glad to be here, thanks," he said.
He liked the large digital backdrops. "Loved it, very nice, very well done," he said.
His son Kevin Rodengen said the "show was amazing."

"It was great. So much color, so much music. The dancing was incredible. My favorite part was the drumming or the water sequence ['Nymphs of the Sea']—that was great. It was realistic and everything," he said.
CEO of Taylor Made Group, Jim Taylor took his wife to the Splendor on Saturday night.
"I thought he was going to fall asleep, I swear to you, he sleeps through everything. And today I saw him smiling here," Mrs. Taylor said.
Mr. Taylor said he enjoyed the show, particularly the drums.
"It was great, wonderful," he said.
He said the dance drama was easy to follow, because he already knew all the stories.
When asked where he had heard the stories before, Mr. Taylor replied, "Oh when you're married to her you hear a story every day!"

Mr. Taylor was very happy with the show, "Oh it was very good, really good," he said.
"Great music, great dancing, great costumes, great spirit. Enjoyed it very much," he said.
The Divine Performing Arts international touring companies land next in Germany and Japan.
