NEW YORK—On Thursday night the Divine Performing Arts' performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor brought traditional Chinese culture to Radio City Music Hall.
One couple who attended the show commented on how much, "we in the West are indebted to the Chinese culture."
Con Curry, a retired mechanic and Manhattan native, and his wife Lola, a cancer support liaison from Venezuela, were full of praise for the show.
"The lyric sopranos were really lovely. I support the message too. I loved the percussion!" said Con.
Lola gave her impression of the Splendor in three words: "Spectacular, colorful, peaceful."
Con said he reads the Epoch Times newspaper quite often and he was familiar with the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist regime, depicted in the show.
"I completely support Falun Gong. I know [the Chinese government] is a gangster government. I know it's a suppressed society. It's a tragedy."
Falun Gong is a meditation practice and spiritual discipline currently being brutally suppressed by the Chinese regime.
"We went to the Holiday Wonders show as well," said Lola.
"It, too, was very nice. The Chinese New Year Splendor was different because it focused on the meaning of Chinese culture and traditions."
The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, February 9. For other shows in the Divine Performing Arts world tour, please visit: http://www.divineperformingarts.org. The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Chinese New Year Splendor.
