Update on Withdrawals from CCP
(Exclusive NTDTV Video)

LA JOLLA, CA─Started by volunteers in the beginning of 2005, the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP was set up to help the Chinese people quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). To commemorate the 30 million Chinese people who've announced their withdrawals from the CCP, and to discuss some of the changes that have been taking place, The Epoch Times conducted an interview in La Jolla on Dec. 30, 2007 with Dr. David Gao, Chairman of the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP.

ET: How did quitting the CCP movement get started?

Dr. Gao: The Communist Party has killed so many Chinese people—over 80 million. But they hide the truth; hide the facts, while lying to both the people in China and the rest of the world. Even to this day, they still torture and kill many Chinese people. They've even gone so far as to steal organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, killing them, and stealing their organs to sell for profit.

This alone shows that this brute regime has to end. With the Chinese people in particular, we can't be a part of this regime any longer.

ET: With the growing number of people quitting the CCP, what are some of the changes that have been taking place?

Dr. Gao: One of the greatest effects that's come about is that more and more people have started to come forward and speak out. They've learned to work together on this and they've also learned to contact different international media and people in other countries, sending out pictures and information so as to let the free world know about the crimes of the CCP. Before the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" was published, people were scared. Now, they're becoming less scared, and are now more willing to speak out, despite threats from the CCP.

"Nobody Believes in Communism Anymore"

ET: We understand that the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP receives many phone calls and letters from Chinese people wanting to quit the Communist Party. From your own experience, what would you say is the general tone?

Dr. Gao: Daily, our overseas service centers receive many calls from Communist Party members. One of the most frequent comments that we receive is that nobody believes in Communism anymore. Even many of the high-ranking officials within the CCP no longer believe in Communism.

In fact, most of the people really hate the Communist government and its corrupt system. The Communist officers are corrupt, taking money from all channels while tormenting the lower class citizens and workers. The Communist Party in China is dead. Only its shell remains, controlling the police and military, but in the people's hearts it no longer has any foundation, as they neither believe in it nor support it.

ET: With all of this going on, do you think that the CCP will be around much longer?

Dr. Gao: Even a tiny shock or small accident in the political, economical, or social sphere can result in the fall of the Chinese Communist Party. Economically, they've lied to the world, saying that China has a very good economy, but actually this is far from the truth, as 80% of the country's wealth is controlled by only 1% of the population. The other 99% of the Chinese people share only 20% of the country's wealth. The vast difference between rich and poor has become an extreme problem.

More and more people are coming to realize that the best way for the CCP to end is by simply quitting from it. Once the number of people who have quit grows large enough to ensure that they won't meet with persecution from the Communist Party, another political party will be able to emerge. There is already a group that has begun to form a new system of government in anticipation for this.

ET: Is there anything else you'd like to say about the 30 million Chinese who have announced their withdrawals from the CCP?

Dr. Gao: The 30 million who have openly quit are only a part of the people who have actually quit from the CCP. The number is actually larger as the Communist Party has invested a lot of money to set up different internet firewalls to block websites and has used other methods to block Chinese people from sending their messages overseas.

Even though there are 30 million Chinese people who have successfully sent their messages stating that they quit the Communist Party, it's believed that the number is at least double that. Everyone hates Communism, and they want its criminal regime to end.
