LAS VEGAS—The Chinese New Year Spectacular was embraced with open hearts at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater on the holiday honoring the noble Martin Luther King, Jr. on Jan. 21. This national holiday celebrating the life and courage of one of America's strongest men, fit perfectly with the mission of the Divine Performing Arts group who put their hearts and souls into their music and dance, hoping to revive the traditional values and art of their mighty ancestors.
James Jackson, a photographer for KTNV/ ABC 13, was impressed with the traditional forms and culture depicted, describing the show as "colorful, provocative and authentic." He further described his admiration for the show by saying, "the song interludes helped me better understand what the songs wanted to convey."
In addition to the graceful flow of heavenly maidens, Jackson was inspired by the performance depicting the legendary Song Dynasty General Yue Fei, triggering Jackson's own core values and virtues. He appreciated that the general "stands up for righteousness and stands up for his village and nation."
The historic tour people of all races and backgrounds have loved held true tonight to its preeminent reputation as being the number one Chinese culture show in the world.
