As the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular winds down in Toronto this Sunday with two final shows at the Sony Centre, people continue pouring in to catch a glimpse of the wonder and beauty of authentic ancient Chinese culture.
Traub Dalal came with his father, mother, and aunt to the afternoon show.
"I think it was amazing," said Dalal, a student studying electronic engineering. "It was nicely done—the choreography, the music itself, the costumes stand out so nicely, and the backdrop is tastefully done as well."
Just last year Dalal travelled to China, so "this is actually not something new for me," he said, but "it is something that is refreshing of what I have seen and so it has given me a new insight as to how it is done here in Toronto."
For Dalal, the Spectacular portrayed the positive message of "freedom."
"Everything, although choreographed, looks free forming, so it moves very smoothly."
Along with the beauty, Dalal noted after watching the show "that faith, religion, and freedom are all aspects of our lives."
