LOS ANGELES—This Saturday evening, Los Angeles residents came from all over the surrounding area to attend the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular at the long anticipated Nokia Theatre in the heart of downtown L.A.

Among the attendees was Teryl Wakeman from Bakersfield, CA, an attorney for Kern County who came with his girlfriend and other friends.

Wakeman said that he most enjoyed the drummers and suggested that it was because perhaps he most identified with them as a "guy" thing.

Wakeman said that he was somewhat familiar with the Chinese traditional culture, but not all the myths and stories.

Succinctly put, Wakeman concluded, "everyone knows Zeus, but not everyone knows Tang."

There is one more performance of the Spectacular in Los Angeles on Sunday at 2pm before it travels to Las Vegas on January 21 and then to San Francisco's Orpheum Theater for seven shows starting on January 23.

The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Divine Performing Arts shows that will perform in over 60 cities worldwide in 2008. To find a show near you, please visit www.bestchineseshows.com.
