Residents of the Gold Coast, South East Queensland's seaside metropolis may well be bathed in sunshine, but this week those who were lucky enough to have tickets to NTDTV´s Chinese New Year Spectacular, were bathed in a different sort of light.
The Divine Performing Arts group, a glorious collection of refined classical Chinese musicians, singers and dancers, by all accounts, generated an energy that filled the Coast's Conrad Jupiter's theatre with a wave of light and peace.
"I liked the candlelight dance," said Margery Truman of the Spectacular's 'Candle light Vigil' performance which sees candlelit lotus flowers danced in gracious waves across the stage representing the orphaned children of persecuted Falon Gong practitioners.
"I am very spiritual and to me the light is the higher truth," Ms Truman explained. "It touched something within me."

"This was a real treat for me".
The Spectacular tells stories of ancient China through three-dimensional backdrops of mystical landscapes, gracious dance and hauntingly beautiful music.
Antonietta Grasso, all the way from Italy, said she had never seen anything like the Spectacular before.
"It was absolutely fantastic," she said. "I feel like it is another place, like another planet."
Ms Grasso said it was hard for her to explain in English but added, "When I go home I will never forget this," she said.
The Gold Coast's Lord Mayor agreed, saying, "It's a very peaceful, gentle show. Fantastic."
