Lenovo, IBM to Recall 526,000 Notebook Batteries

SAN FRANCISCO—Lenovo Group Ltd. and International Business Machines Corp. are recalling about 526,000 Sony Corp. batteries made for ThinkPad notebook PCs after a computer caught fire at Los Angeles International Airport, Lenovo and U.S. safety officials said on Thursday.

The announcement follows similar recalls by Dell Inc. and Apple Computer Inc., also involving Sony notebook batteries.
