The Epoch Times publication of the The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in the fall of 2004 has triggered an unprecedented wave of resignation from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. By now, more than 12 million people have announced their withdrawals from the CCP and its affiliated organs. This article chronicles the major events in the resignation of the CCP.

? On November 19, 2004, Dajiyuan, the Chinese version of The Epoch Times, starts publishing the editorial series The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. The series analyze the CCP's evil nature from historical, political, economic, cultural, and spiritual perspectives, exposing it as a deceitful and violent Party, an evil cult and a scoundrel. Its publication has led to a major spiritual renewal among Chinese throughout the world. The CCP's red wall is crumbling.

? On November 29, 2004, Dajiyuan publishes its first declaration asking readers to resign from the CCP.

? On December 31, 2004, over 60 groups around the world form the "Global Coalition to Say Goodbye CCP."

? On January 12, 2005, Dajiyuan's website publishes Tuidang " Dajiyuan's Solemn Declaration" , stating the inevitable demise of the CCP and the importance of quitting the CCP's organizations.

? On January 14, the CCP starts the so-called "Maintaining Advancement" campaign, forcing people to renew the vows they swore when they joined the CCP.

? On February 22, 2005, more than ten groups, including The Epoch Times, the Global Coalition to Say Goodbye CCP, the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice, the Nine Commentaries website and the China Affairs website, join effort to form the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP—a non-for-profit organization that helps people quit the CCP world-wide.

? In February 2005, over 100 Nine Commentaries forums are held in over 40 cities around the globe. Participants are in the thousands, including Western and Eastern scholars, overseas Chinese leaders and victims of the CCP's rule. By October of 2005, over 350 such forums have been held.

? On April 21, 2005, the number of people quitting the CCP reaches one million on The Epoch Times Tuidang (Quit the CCP) website. Worldwide, many parades and gatherings are held in support of those who have resigned. Over 20,000 people participate in these parades, and over 400 groups sponsor the gatherings. Well-known democratic and human-rights activists from more than 20 provinces and cities in China publicly announce their withdrawals from the CCP, the Communist Youth League (CYL) and Communist Young Pioneers (CYP). Some also participate in the parades.

? On May 29, 2005, the U.S. Secretary of Defense Mr. Rumsfeld signs his support in Washington D.C. for the Chinese people's resignations from the CCP.

? On May 31, 2005, the number of resignations reaches two million on The Epoch Times Tuidang website. Chinese from various parts of the world organize gatherings and parades with the theme "Say Goodbye to the CCP and Support Two Million People Quitting the CCP."

? In June 2005, former Chinese diplomat to Australia Chen Yonglin, former officer of Tianjin's 610 Office Hao Fengjun, and former Shenyang Justice Bureau Chief Han Guangsheng openly renounce their CCP membership.

? On the evening of July 3, 2005, 25 TV stations in China, including the Chinese Central TV station, are interrupted by a broadcast of the Nine Commentaries and the news of CCP resignations. Word of the Nine Commentaries spread quickly throughout China.

? On July 15, 2005, the number of resignations reaches three million on The Epoch Times Tuidang website.

? On July 20, 2005, U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Frank Gaffney, member of Canadian Parliament Rob Anders, and Swedish Parliament member Goran Lindblad speak against the CCP's rule.

? On August 18, 2005, the /I>Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party wins top honors in the category "Asian American Issues - Online" from the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). Over 1,000 media professionals from newspapers, magazines, televisions, radio and internet news networks come to the AAJA annual convention. Eleven awards are given in four categories—newspaper, Internet, radio and television.

? September 15, 2005: The National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) honors 12 ethnic media groups and 30 individuals for their contribution to Canadian society. The Epoch Times receives the award for best editorial content and visual presentation, making it the only Chinese language newspaper to win this year.

? October 18, 2005: The number of those who have publicly withdrawn from the CCP on The Epoch Times Tuidang website surpasses 5 million. Various organizations around the globe show their support through rallies, panel discussions, photo exhibits, and art performances.

? December 3, 2005: According to The Epoch Times Tuidang website, over 6 million people have quit the CCP.

? November, 2005: Gao Zhisheng, a renowned Beijing human rights lawyer, accompanied by Mr. Jiao Guobiao, a former professor at Peking University, conducts a 15-day investigation in Changchun City, Jilin Province and Dalian City, Liaolin Province. On December 12, he sends his third open letter to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao titled "We Must Immediately Stop the Brutality That Suffocates Our Nation's Conscience and Morality." The letter exposes the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. After the investigation, Gao publicly issues a written statement renouncing his CCP membership, saying that he felt it immediately necessary to "quit such a malevolent, unrighteous, and inhumane evil party." Gao says that he is more proud than he has ever been in his life."

? December 6, 2005: In Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, more than a thousand paramilitary police attack a group of protestors in the town of Dongzhou. The villagers are gathered to protest a land-grab by Shanwei City officials, who want to use the land to build a power plant. It is a massacre—dozens of protestors are shot dead by police rifles and tanks. This latest attack on its own people by the Chinese communist authorities is sharply reminiscent of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre. These events are a cause for concern in the West and have attracted a lot of global attention.

? January 8, 2006: The Epoch Times Tuidang website show that over seven million people have quit the CCP.

? January 25, 2006: The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) holds a meeting in Strasbourg, France. Parliamentary representatives from 46 European countries pass a resolution condemning crimes of totalitarian communist regimes. Swedish Member of Parliament Goran Lindblad, who drafted the condemning resolution, calls it "a New Year's present to the Chinese people." He points out that Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is a very valuable document, and says that there are numerous signs signifying the collapse of the CCP's dictatorship.

? February 5, 2006: In Haicheng City, Liaoning Province, a Nine Commentaries video program is successfully aired on local cable TV. This marks another major milestone in breaking through the CCP information blockade. In 2005 a broadcast of a Nine Commentaries program interrupted 25 television channels, including the television stations of Tianjin City, Shandong Province, Hebei Province, Shanghai City, Shenzhen City, Hunan Province, Yunnan Province, Inner Mongolia, the Ningxia Autonomous Region and Zhejiang Province.

? February 14, 2006: The total number of withdrawals exceeds eight million.

? March 6, 2006: More than 10,000 people stage a "Globally Synchronized 24 Hour Hunger Strike" to voice their support for attorney Gao Zhisheng and others who are protesting human rights injustices in China.

? March 9, 2006: A senior reporter from a Chinese newspaper, acting as an unnamed source, offers information to The Epoch Times about the existence of a secret concentration camp at the Sujiatun medical facility, located in Shenyang City in the northeast of China The source says that thousands of Falun Gong practitioners were being warehoused there and being slaughtered for their organs. He says the bodies are being immediately incinerated to hide the evidence.

? March 16, 2006: More than nine million people have renounced the CCP on The Epoch Times Tuidang website. The Epoch Times publishes a special report in support of the nine million people who have quit the CCP. This report states, "The concentration camp in Sujiatun exposed the fascist crimes of the CCP rarely known by the outside world. The evil tyranny of the CCP constitutes the worst trampling of today's civilization; it is completely unbearable to anyone with basic human morals." The report calls on "the international society to monitor the crimes closely and denounce the fascist-like slaughtering inside the CCP's concentration camp, take all possible measures to investigate the crime and bring the tragedy to an end."

? March 17, 2006: The ex-wife of a former surgeon at Liaoning Province Thrombosis Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine confirms with The Epoch Times reporters that thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are secretly held in this hospital; according to this witness, who does not want to give her name, the crimes against practitioners at the Sujiatun medical center started in 2001. There was the removal of kidneys, livers and corneas from a large number of live Falun Gong practitioners; the bodies of these Falun Gong practitioners were thrown into the hospital's incinerator, which was originally a boiler and had been turned into a crematory oven. No trace of the bodies was left, because the bone ash would be tossed away with burned charcoal inside the boiler. Her ex-husband was personally involved in cornea removal surgeries from live Falun Gong practitioners.

? March 31, 2006: A veteran military doctor in Shenyang City reveals to The Epoch Times that the hospital in Sujiatun is only one of a group of 36 similar concentration camps for Falun Gong in China. According to the source, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces imprison the largest number of Falun Gong practitioners. The concentration camp in Jiutai District in Jilin Province is the fifth-largest camp imprisoning Falun Gong practitioners in China. This camp alone detains over 14,000 Falun Gong practitioners. The largest concentration camp, codenamed 672-S, imprisons over 120,000 people. On April 30, this veteran military doctor reveals the official procedures of organ removal and trading of organs from Falun Gong practitioners orchestrated by the communist regime.

? April 4, 2006: The Falun Dafa Association and Minghui website jointly establish the "Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" (CIPFG), calling on and inviting personnel from all circles to join with CIPFG to investigate prisons, labor camps, and detention centers in China where Falun Gong practitioners are being held. The goal of the group is to obtain concrete evidence of the crimes committed against Falun Gong detainees during the seven-year persecution.

? April 20, 2006: Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Wenyi Wang shouts-out at China's president Hu Jintao during a reception ceremony on the White House lawn. She screams, "Falun Dafa is great!" and "Stop the persecution of Falun Gong!" It is widely reported by international media. On the same day, Falun Gong practitioners hold a press conference in Washington D.C., the two witnesses who exposed the organ harvesting crimes, going by the assumed names of "Annie" and "Peter," hold a press conference to inform the major media of the organ harvesting crimes in China.

? April 25, 2006: The number of people to formally renounce their membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations passes the 10 million mark. Large-scale activities are held all over the world to support these 10 Million courageous people and events are held around the world to commemorate the 10 million withdrawals and to let more people know about the organ harvesting crimes.

? May 8, 2006: The former director of the Asia-Pacific division of Canada's Foreign Affairs Ministry, David Kilgour, and respected international human rights lawyer David Matas hold a press conference at Parliament Hill in Ottawa, announcing the launching of an independent investigation into widespread allegations of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in China.

? May 19, 2006: The Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott embarks on a three-day fact-finding mission to "explore the truth" of the human rights situation in China and specifically the plight of Falun Gong practitioners. He meets diplomats, experts and scholars in Beijing including those from European Parliament as well as non-government organizations, and Falun Gong practitioners. In addition to giving his support to the movement to quit the CCP, he affirms that the communist regime must fall. He says that he hopes, "100 percent of the CCP members will withdraw from the Party."

? June 17, 2006: The number of withdrawals from the CCP logged at The Epoch Times Tuidang website tops 11 million.

? June 21, 2006: Charges against Dr. Wenyi Wang are dropped. "If the CCP continues its crime of organ removal from live Falun Gong practitioners, I believe more Wenyi Wangs will speak out," said Dr. Wang. She has been interviewed by over 100 different media since her pleas at the White House. Many governments and relevant organizations show concern over her case and the organ harvesting and other torture committed in concentration camps in China.

? July 6, 2006: David Kilgour and David Matas release a 68-page document detailing their investigation into the allegations of organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in China. The document, titled "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Faun Gong Practitioners in China," is the result of their two-month, intensive investigations. The report concludes that the allegations are true and well grounded in fact. It confirms that systematic forced organ removal from Falun Gong practitioners, along with the sale of such organs on the international market, has been going on for the last five years in China. They call the organ harvesting operation, "a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet."

? July 25, 2006: The number of resignations from the CCP and its related organizations tops 12 million.
