What can happen when a person who has lived behind an information blockade finally hears the truth? One morning, a person in mainland China called me after hearing a report from the Sound of Hope Radio about the millions of withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
He asked me to contact him about the harvesting of organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. He told me that he lived in Shenyang City, and he knew about the Thrombus Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine in Sujiatun.
The shocking disclosure last March about that hospital in Sujiatun was still fresh in my mind. "Annie" [an assumed name to protect her identity] had gone public to reveal that her ex-husband, a neurosurgeon, had been involved in harvesting Falun Gong practitioners' organs.
Annie: "My ex-husband told me that many of them [Falun Gong practitioners] were healthy and alive, and yet their organs were removed. After the operations, the bodies of many of them were thrown into furnaces and burned to ashes. My ex-husband offered not to do these kinds of surgeries, but he had no control over himself. He knew that if he had refused to do it, his family would have been killed. I am revealing the truth today and could be murdered tomorrow. But then you will know the CCP is behind it."
I told the caller about how Annie's ex-husband woke up from nightmares in the middle of the night. I told him about Wenyi Wang, the Chinese woman who had protested during President Bush's welcoming ceremony for Hu Jintao [China's head of state] on April 20. Dr. Wang, a medical professional, shouted out to Hu during the event on the White House lawn: "Stop persecuting Falun Gong!" The event aroused international media attention.
I also informed him about the independent investigation conducted by former Canadian Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) David Kilgour and international human rights lawyer David Matas. Their report, which they released to the Canadian media, is entitled: "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China." The evidence contained in the report suggests that between 2000 and 2005, donor organs for over 40,000 organ transplants were from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners. The horror is still going on in China today.
Upon hearing these details, the caller asked me to help him renounce the wicked CCP by making an online statement using an assumed name.
Helping People Learn the Truth
When I first heard about the organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners, I went on a hunger strike on two separate days. I seriously hoped that with my efforts and energy I could convey a message to my friends: Shouldn't we wake up and show our concern for the many Falun Gong practitioners in China who are enduring such atrocities? At gatherings to mourn the deaths of fellow practitioners, with lighted candle in my hands, I could not hold back my tears.
One day, I saw a message on the Internet. The author wrote: "I logged onto your Web site yesterday and read what's in it. I was shocked! I want to thank you for letting me find the bridge through which I can know the truth. I will no longer be deceived by the government. I will seek truth, raise my voice for justice, and fight for freedom!"
Encouraged by his feedback, I sent him a few voice recordings—evidence of the harvesting of organs from live Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP. After he heard the clips, he agreed to let me help him withdraw from the communist organizations.
When he received his confirmation number, he said, "Thank you. I feel so much relieved. It is you who have led me out of the marshland and onto a bright path toward Heaven. This is a purification of my soul and a rebirth of my spirit!"
I only expressed my hope that he would help more people know the truth. He replied, "I sure will!"
Hacker Has a Change of Heart
I feel gratified when I see more and more people begin to know the truth. It's been over a year now since I started administering a truth-clarification Web site, and I have often received intimidating messages from hackers. Because our Web site is one of the channels through which Chinese can know the truth, I have to protect it from any harm.
Recently a net user told me: "I am trying to find your address in Taiwan through software. Someone offered to pay me to sabotage your Web site. I can tell you something honestly—by the time I count to 10, your Web site will be gone."
He asked me to enter the video chat room, and I agreed. My heart was completely calm, and I thought this was an opportunity for him to hear the truth. I didn't have the thought of safeguarding our Web site, and all I did was tell him about the CCP's atrocities in a peaceful and sincere voice and told him about the sufferings Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China have been enduring.
I saw in the video that he had changed from trying to stop me from talking to listening to me patiently. In the end he left—without hacking our Web site.
Two days later, I saw a message that said, "I want to be a Falun Gong practitioner." It was the person who had wanted to hack our Web site! I sent him a smiley face.
He was under great pressure as he mistakenly took the CCP as China. He said to me: "If I hacked your Web site now, I could still secure my own safety. Hackers have no feelings!!! What should I do?!!!!!!"
Our conversation went on for a while, and he finally decided to quit his job and not to hack our truth-clarification Web site. I said: "Thank you very much. I want to thank you on behalf of those Chinese who want to know the truth. Nothing we do will be able to fool our conscience, and we will be held accountable for whatever we do. I suffered from serious depression before, and it's Falun Gong that has given me a new life. What I am doing is what I want to do.
"You may hack our Web site at any time, but I want to repeat something to you: A human should act righteously! If you are a true Chinese, you should not be a slave to the CCP." I have not heard from him since.
I have also been helping a few youngsters quit the Young Pioneers, a communist affiliate for young kids. They agreed to let me help them make statements using assumed names right after hearing the truth. Their hearts are so kind and pure!
I am writing this with the hope that our friends who still misunderstand Falun Gong can sweep away the dust that has coated their souls and cast out completely their hostilities towards [Falun Gong practitioners]. We have no hatred for anyone, nor do we want political power... still less do we want to overthrow the CCP.
Since ancient times, good and evil have always been judged. The only thing we want is to keep kind-hearted people from being forever deceived. We just don't believe that the human conscience cannot be restored.
