The number of people who have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and associated organisations on a special website constructed by The Epoch Times has now hit 11 million.
More than 40 New Zealanders took to the streets of Wellington last Friday and Saturday to raise awareness of the withdrawals hitting 11 million, another milestone in the collapse of the CCP which is sure to send shockwaves throughout the world in the near future.
The activities in Wellington also further exposed the recent revelations of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners currently taking place in China.
Three separate sources stepped forward in recent months to expose shocking stories from China where live Falun Gong practitioners are having their organs extracted by communist authorities to supply the organ trade.
The events in Wellington began early Friday morning as travellers through Wellington Train Station were handed pamphlets, shown banners, and had the peaceful Falun Gong meditation exercises demonstrated to them.
The demonstrators then made their way to the Chinese embassy where a silent protest against the persecution of Falun Gong ensued. An anti-organ harvesting display was then erected in the central business district on Lambton Quay, and continued until after dark.
The anti-organ harvesting display re-enacted what Falun Gong practitioners are currently being forced to endure in China, where organs such as kidneys, livers, and corneas are extracted from live people before there bodies are cremated, often while the victims are still alive.
Event organiser Gina Shakespear said people were shocked and horrified to discover what was happening in China.
"Support from the public was absolutely amazing. They thanked us. They thanked us for bringing the truth, and questioned why other media were not reporting on what is happening in communist China."
On Saturday morning, the Porirua and Lower Hutt Markets were flooded with people who were once again shocked to hear about the scale of the persecution of Falun Gong - one of the biggest persecutions in history. Many shoppers were also well aware of what is currently happening in Mainland China.
Unwitting Chinese Help Spread CCP's Propaganda
Many Chinese people saw the displays, to mixed reactions. Ms Shakespear said that a lot of Chinese people in New Zealand are victims of propaganda from the CCP, and unwittingly help to spread the CCP's deceit throughout New Zealand society.
"It is important to let the Chinese people know what is happening in their homeland because the propaganda (from the communist regime) permeates every sector of their society," Ms Shakespear said.
A protest march on the Saturday afternoon celebrated the 11 million people who had publicly withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party since November 2004, when The Epoch Times first published the editorial Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
The anti-organ harvesting display was also set up in Manners Mall near Cuba Street in the late afternoon, where it continued to draw large crowds. "The display was very powerful. It moved people to tears," said Ms Shakespear.
At this time in China there are known to be at least 36 concentration camps killing Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience to supply the Chinese organ trade.
