JAKARTA, INDONISIA — At 10:30 a.m. on the morning of April 28 two Falun Gong practitioners were beaten in front of a public security agency at Pancoran, the largest Chinatown in Jakarta City, Indonesia. One received several blows on his head with a long stick, causing severe bleeding. The Falun Gong practitioners said that this is the latest instance of the Chinese Communist regime spreading their hatred with a deliberate attack on Falun Gong practitioners.
On the day of the attack, the injured practitioner took part in a peaceful demonstration, distributing flyers exposing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s crimes of extracting organs from living people for organ transplants. But his attacker was already waiting for him. While the practitioners were putting up their banner, the assailant moved forward with other security agents to disrupt and forcefully put a halt to the activities.
These two practitioners were interviewed by an Epoch Times reporter after the police were notified of this incident.
The Motives Behind The Assault
Reporter: Did you know the attacker?
Victim: No, but he openly charged at the two of us.
Reporter: Since neither of you knew each other, why did he attack you?
Victim: This I am not sure of, but it seemed as if they were prepared for this assault. We did not arrive at the same time; I was late. Even before we put up the banner he already seemed to know the purpose of our protest. He continuously cursed at us and behaved violently. The security agents wanted us to go to the nearby security agency office for interrogation.
Reporter: Did the security agents think you were violating the law?
Victim: We had already received a permit for our activities, and had shown it to them. The motive of our demonstration is to tell the public of the CCP's brutality in forcefully extracting organs from live [Falun Gong] practitioners, and selling them internationally to the highest bidders. We are here to protect human rights; this has nothing to do with politics.
Reporter: Could you describe details of what happened?
Victim: The perpetrator was already waiting there at the time I arrived. When I arrived, the security agents asked me to talk with them at the security agency. There I met [the other Falun Gong practitioner]. I stood aside and listened as he explained our demonstration to the security agents. That perpetrator asked me a question and I responded. To my surprise, he immediately swung the long wooden stick he was holding and ruthlessly hit my head with it. I do not know him and I do not know why he hit me.
Reporter: According to witnesses at the scene, your head spattered a lot of blood immediately after being hit.
Victim: He bore down on me menacingly, continuously insulting me and flinging abuse at me, but he did not want to listen to any of my explanations. He appeared to be working under instruction from someone, acting as a thug for someone or some group. He brandished a wooden stick in his hand, and began to hit me after cursing at me.
Reporter: Can you guess who is behind this?
Answer: The security agents told us that they have a list of local Chinese who cosigned a petition against Falun Gong holding any activity in Pancoran. However they did not state the reason. This action has already departed from routine; moreover they played rough and hit people. Actually it is not hard to guess who is behind this, because in the whole world, only the CCP persecutes Falun Gong and behaves like hoodlums. Spreading hatred is a trick the CCP has mastered well. We have discovered this several times already. The Chinese Embassy instigates or even directly manipulates from behind the scenes, utilizing Chinese nationalism to easily distort facts.
Submitting to the CCP's Aim of Opposing Falun Gong is Not Indonesia's Way
In the end, the two Falun Gong practitioners pointed out that opposing Falun Gong's peaceful activities to resist violence and reveal the truth is the same as submitting to the CCP's aims, and that Indonesia is a democratic and free country ruled by law. Expressing different opinions and views are protected by Indonesia's national constitution. That is the right of every citizen. Whoever infringes this right is deliberately violating the law and will be punished by law. Chinese Indonesian citizens should act in accordance with the national policy and maintain the laws of the nation. Anyone doing the opposite will be seen as the CCP's mouthpiece.
