I have known about the tide of withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for some time now, but remained an observer. I was afraid I would be persecuted and the safety of my family and the future of our children would be affected. Although the Party constitution states that one is free to withdraw from the Party, in reality this is not so. In China an individual's life is controlled by institutions. If you go against the Party, then you will lose your job, house, medical and retirement benefits. This is typical in China, as the Communist Party controls everything, including your birth and death.
A month ago, I learnt about the Sujiatun tragedy and was furious. It is inadequate to describe those persecutors as thieves or beasts. Even thieves do not usually harm the poor, young, elderly, children or women; even thieves follow a certain code of conduct. It is even more inappropriate to call them beasts. I love animals; they are rather adorable and at the most they prey on the weak for food. How can they be compared to the evil Communist Party! The Sujiatun incident is the most terrible atrocity of all times, more horrible than the German fascism and Japanese imperialism. Furthermore, there are many other such death camps in China besides Sujiatun.
The horrible news of Sujiatun urges me to stop being an observer of the withdrawals. My wife Xiao Liu and I hereby declare our resignation from the Communist Youth league, Young Pioneers and the CCP-controlled workers' union.
