In 1984, I studied at the Third Military Medical University (TMMU). One morning, when I was on my way to school, people rushed to the hill behind the university. I heard people shouting, "Something happened! A female student was raped and killed. She was stabbed 11 times with a knife." In the ensuing panic, TMMU committed a crime beyond this horrific murder.
The murderer's name was Fang Ming, 21 years old. He studied in the Department of Medical Treatment. After he had an argument with the female student because of romantic issues, he raped and stabbed her 11 times. At first he fled, but later surrendered. The military court sentenced him to death for rape and murder. The death penalty was carried out immediately outside of the animal pen at TMMU, which is across from the research facility of the pathological anatomy section of Xinan Hospital (affiliated with TMMU).
After the public trial, Fang was brought out to a car. Some teachers from the research facility gave him medicine. We saw the photo of the execution. The bullet had entered through his skull and lodged about two inches deep.
After the execution, he was immediately carried by stretcher to the research facility of the pathological anatomy section at Xinan Hospital, where they were ready for the organ transplant surgery. Fang's own teachers removed his organs. It is said that his corpse was kept in the school as a teaching specimen. Many teachers were indignant about the inhuman conduct of removing his organs, but they dared not say anything about it.
We learned from Fang's diary that he was once an idealistic youth. He had read many Chinese and foreign books and was a talented young man. I remember that when he defended himself in court, he said, "The reason I become a criminal is because I don't have any ideals to pursue. I have lost faith in the Communist Party and society. I hope that the court punishes me quickly and heavily."
Although it was said that Fang voluntarily donated his organs, for a long time, his classmates and closest teachers could not accept the brutality of the event. When all the students of TMMU publicly exposed and criticized Fang, many people started to seriously think about what kind of a society would ruthlessly devour its own people to sell their organs for money?
Today, 20 years after the Fang Ming incident, we are again startled at hearing about the secret concentration camp in Sujiatun, where more than 6,000 innocent Falun Gong practitioners are imprisoned and where doctors make huge profits by removing practitioners' organs while they are still alive.
It is the most alarming news of the 21st century. It is a business which has no production costs but can earn enormous profits. The executioners who have made so much money killing so many people will become more ruthless. After all the innocent Falun Gong practitioners are killed, anyone could become a target.
Until Sujiatun was publicly exposed, no one could have imagined that such a horrifying thing is happening today. It is even harder to imagine what may happen tomorrow. Discard any illusions about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and save yourself from the wolf that devours its own people.
