LOS ANGELES - The waves of support for Chinese people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), protect human rights and oppose persecution against rights activists have recently snowballed. On February 26, more than 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners from across the world and some locals who support democracy in China rallied in Los Angeles' Chinatown, to support the over 8.4 million Chinese who have withdrawn from the evil Chinese Communist Party and all its affiliated organizations and to promote further withdrawals from the CCP to fight against its violent suppression and to hasten its final disintegration.

The rally started at around 10 a.m. The speakers included Dr. Charles Lee, who had been wrongfully jailed by the CCP for three years; a representative from Global Service Center of Quitting the CCP Dr. Li Dayong; the Chief Editor of The Epoch Times Ms. Guo Jun; Ms. Zhu Wanqi, the director of the International Advocates for Justice and a registered attorney in New York State; the Editor-in-Chief for Press Freedom Guardian Mr. Wu Renhua; the chairperson for the Visual Artists Association Ms. Liu Yaya; renowned democratic activist Mr. Wu Fan; the Secretary-General of the Chinese Social Democratic Party Mr. Liu Yinquan; the President of Sound of Hope Radio Mr. Zeng Yong; and Jim Von Water, a representative for the San Diego Chapter of Amnesty International and the San Diego Chapter of the United Nations Association.

After the rally, over 2,000 people staged a grand parade in Chinatown. The performance by the Falun Gong marching band "Celestial Band," formed by over 200 practitioners, was particularly touching. The overpowering sound of the trumpet went straight to the hearts of the people. Some onlookers were moved to tears.
