On February 10, Arlington, MA Resident J. J. Peng joined the Relay Hunger Strike to condemn the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of innocent Chinese. On the 13th, Peng and about 20 supporters Saturday at a busy intersection on the Boston Common to announce his actions and to explain the Relay Hunger Strike to the audience. Peng maintained his 24-hour hunger strike from February 10 to the 11th, "to condemn the armed attack to Li Yuan, to support the anti-persecution movement led by human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, and to protest the inhuman persecution of innocent people by the CCP," said Peng. He added, " and to act on behalf of the 1.3 billion Chinese people who don't even have their basic human rights in the 21st century."

The rally was pushed up following the attack against the Chief Technical Officer Li Yuan. Li's home was ransacked by two Chinese agents who tied him up, beat him, and stole two of his laptop computers from locked cabinets. Passers-by were especially shocked that such an attack could happen in America. This is the first violent assault against an Epoch Times employee on U.S. soil.

One day after Mr. Li was attacked, there was a related incident in Paris. New Tang Dynasty Television, which works closely with The Epoch Times , found that the ticket receipts for the NTDTV New year's Gala had been stolen from its Paris office.
